This is a great cake!
2/3 cup butter, softened
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 (1-oz) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 cups icy, cold water
Grease and flour a 9 x 13" pan. Cream the butter, and gradually add the sugar and beat for 5 minutes. Add add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla and chocolate.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, soda and salt and mix well. Add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, alternately with the cold water. Spread in the prepared pan. Batter will be very thick.
Bake 350 degrees, for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Frost with White Fudge Frosting.
