Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Printable Recipe

I got this recipe from They're a softer cookie and make a lot! If you wish, you can flatten the dough balls criss-cross style, with the tines of a fork dipped in sugar or flour. I do not do this, as it is not necessary. They will flatten somewhat by themselves while they bake.

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 egg yolks
2 tsp vanilla
1 (18-oz) jar of peanut butter
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

1 - 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips

Cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, egg yolk and vanilla. Beat well. cream in the peanut butter. In another bowl, stir together the flour, soda and salt. Stir into the creamed mixture, just until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips. Chill the dough for at least 2 hours, for easier handling (although it's no necessary).

Roll into balls and place on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Cookies should look dry on top. Allow to cool a few minutes on cookie sheets before removing to a rack to cool completely.
