Coconut Chocolate Chip Bars

These bars have a very buttery flavor. The dough spreads quite thin, but it will bake up nicely enough.

1/2 cup butter, softened (use real butter, do not use margarine)
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup sweetened, shredded coconut

Cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg and vanilla. Beat in the flour, soda and salt. Stir in the chocolate chips and coconut. Bake 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until light golden brown. Do not overbake.
